Chairman`s Speech

The march of good and giving continues on all of our good land. Steps forward accelerate, services grow more and more, and achievements succeed one after another in all work and development sites, while our beloved Oman moves on with full confidence and stability, catching up with the advanced nations, through maintaining its glorious past and pride in the prosperous present attainments.

The Municipal Council was always attempting to attain an obvious impact in the overall achievements of the revival, thanks to its distinguished, considerable and effective role in the service of the citizens in Muscat Governorate. It even goes beyond that to finding more spacious areas of communication and collaboration with the various sectors of the society. The significant impact delivered by the adverse weather conditions that have swept the Sultanate is a crystal clear evidence to the efforts made to address the devastation they caused. The Municipal Council with its members stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the executive body of the Municipality to return life in Muscat Governorate as before. Indeed, through joint efforts, everything went as is. some new houses were rebuilt and delivered, while others affected by the weather bad conditions were restored. The Council also issued decisions on reconstruction or rehabilitation of roads and bridges.

Moreover, the Municipal Council played an active role in the enhancement and service projects that have been implemented in Muscat Governorate. Gardens, parks and footpaths have been established, and also tourist sites have been developed and provided with all the necessary services. Not only that, but the Council members had a prominent role in terms of the field visits they paid to different Muscat states, so as to recognize the needs of citizens and identify all the issues requiring radical solutions to find their locations on the enhancement and service arena in Muscat Governorate.

In conclusion, we emphasize on work continuity and solidarity with the society so that the Municipal Council, at its subsequent sessions, can complete its efforts that preceded in this area, taking into consideration the interests of our homeland and citizens under the umbrella of the wise leadership of our ruler, HM Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may Allah protect him.
